The Oykel Bridge Hotel sits amidst the dramatic mountain scenery of the Sutherland Assynt lands and offers some of the most outstanding wild brown trout loch fishing anywhere in Scotland. The hotel owns fishing rights on a number of lochs and has access to many more, making it a natural location for any trout fisher to stay.
Fishing is by traditional loch style fly only and sensible conservation rules are in place.
Most of our lochs are within a group of the renowned Assynt lochs that have limestone intrusions, making them more fertile. This results in excellent fly life and free rising fish. Some of our lochs have good Mayfly hatches and an abundance of shrimp. Char and Ferrox trout are also present in some of the lochs.
New boats and outboards have recently provided for the hotel's own lochs. Boatman and ghillies can also be arranged if booked in advance.
